Decided to drive in to the city and check out another Oil Kings game last night and it was a good one. Probably the most physical game i've seen in a long time, there were 6 or 7 fights, a few dirty hits and things turned ugly. Edmonton opened the scoring on a nice 3 way passing play finished off with a roofjob by JP Szaszkiewicz. The Oil Kings controlled most of the 1st period, but unfortunately they gave up a flukely late minute goal. Stefan Elliot of the Blades carried the puck up ice and dumped it in, Archibald went to play the puck behind the net but the puck had a funny bounce off the side boards right in front of our net where Colton Gillies collapsed all over the opportunity and barried it. The second period was fairly dull until Justin McCrae landed a HUGE open ice hit on Oil Kings newcomer Jeff Lee. It didnt take long for the Oil Kings to retaliate as D-man Drew Nichol landed a vicious elbow on Travis Toomey who was injured on the play. This ignited a huge line brawl highlighted by Brett Breitkreuz pummeling Stefan Elliott wit lefts and rights. Both teams now played the rest of the game with a short bench as all 8 players received 5 and a game. In the 3rd Edmonton took the lead on a point shot from Tyler Hlookoff that found its way to the back of the net. From there the Oil Kings never looked back and hung on for the 2-1 victory.

3 Stars(As Picked by the WHL):
1) Alex Archibald(Edmonton)
2) Tomas Vincour(Edmonton)
3) Ondrej Fiala(Saskatoon)

Kind of urts we had no Durand Niemi Philp lost gillies early in the second with the fight situation Toomey got hurt and so did McCrae.this is a team that is walking wounded right now.
