Jamie Porter head scout of the Broncos made some comments on up and coming prospects.

David Greyeyes: Has had a good year on a team having a down season. Should be on the Broncos D but we had a number of vets return. With the injuries we have on the back end, personally i think he will be called up after the Mac's Tourney.

Chad Ketting and Erik Ferber: Two very capable goalies waiting in the wings. Ketting plays for Northwest Vancouver Giants and Ferber for Phoenix Firebirds. Ferber is having an impressive season Porter said. He took in a couple of Bronco games last year and Porter feels confident he will opt to remain with the Broncos rather than playing the college route.

Jarryd Ten Vaanholt: Also plays on Nothwest Vancouver Giants who are undefeated this season.

Christian Magnus: A 15 year-old who was called for the Edmonton Tournament and played very well. He led the team in scoring at the tournament. Magnus plays for the Saskatoon Blazers, another team in the Mac's tournament. Porter goes on to say he is a skilled guy who can really skate and doesn't mind going into dirty areas.

Taylor Ernst: Plays for the Regina Pat Canadians. A versitile defenceman who will be an important part of the Broncos future. He was also called up for a few games this year. Porter says he is a guy they think can run the power play in the future. He is extremely intelligent and skates well so will be the type of guy who can also play forward.

Evan Warner and Taylor Vause: Both play Alberta Midget and have been in the top ten scoring all year. Porter says Vause is ready to play on the Broncos he just has to decide if he wants to play major junior or college hockey.

Jordan Peddle: Porter says Peddle was dark horse. Peddle plays for the Home Hardware Midget Legionnaires and is top five in scoring in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League on a team that has struggled for wins. Porter says Jordan is the type of guy who keeps getting better. We listed him coming out of one of our camps so here is a guy playing in our own backyard who may someday play for the Broncos.

On that note, tough to see how Riley Nash will develop with only 11 games played thus far. Someone tell Kevin Lowe to send him here.

What's the story with goalie prospect Chad Ketting? His team is at the Mac's Tournament but the only time he has been on the ice is for pregame warmup.

When Edmonton drafted Nash, Kevin Lowe said he would prefer Riley play with the Broncos this year and even said if Riley did decide to play in the WHL Kevin Would personally drive him here. He went on to say he would respect whatever decision Nash made which was college. I know the Broncos tried hard to convince him to come here and even his parents had nothing but good things to say about the Broncos as an organization in the way they treated Riley and his family but that it was his decision. I agree playing only 11 games in college versus could have played 40 games so far i think if he had of reported to the Broncos he would have had a true test of what the pros would be like. There are more and more players leaving the NCAA and returning to the WHL and with any luck Riley may do the same.
