KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has acquired 19-year-old left wing Radek Meidl.

Meidl, a 6'3, 200 lbs native of Prague, Czech Republic, appeared in 72 games for the Seattle Thunderbirds as a rookie in 2006-07. Meidl collected 16 goals and 27 points along with a plus-3 rating and 89 penalty minutes for the T-birds.

After being released from Seattle to make room for goaltender Riku Helenius in the off-season, Meidl returned to the Czech Republic and played for HC Oloumouc of the Czech First Liga. He recently took part in the World Junior Champions in Pardabice, Czech Republic, where he played in six games and recorded a goal, two points and four penalty minutes.

"Radek will provide our hockey club with another skilled forward that will add more depth and size to our forward lines," explained Tory. "We are extremely pleased to be able to add a player of this quality to our line-up at this time of our season."
