Wednesday is over
The Vancouver Giants had two new faces at practice on Wednesday, with Adam Basford and Travis Gorman, a pair of 18-year-old forwards from the BCHL’s Surrey Eagles, in camp on a tryout basis. Basford has 50 points in 44 games with Surrey, while Gorman has nine points in 11 games. Gorman is a grinder who began the season with the Tri-City Americans — he had an early-season scrap with Giants superpest Garet Hunt — and joined Surrey after being dealt to the Kootenay Ice. . . . RW Michal Repik, out with a concussion since Dec. 1, skated Tuesday but a medical appointment kept him away Wednesday. He plans on playing Jan. 30 against the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Prince George Citizen sports editor Jim Swanson summed up this one: “If this game was a political race, it would be said the Silvertips ran unopposed, and there was a very low voter turnout.” . . .
