TASSONE VOTED BOSTON PIZZA ‘FAN’S CHOICE’ WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CALGARY, AB. – The BOSTON PIZZA ‘Fan’s Choice’ WHL Player of the Week, as voted on by WHL fans, is forward Matt Tassone of the Swift Current Broncos.
Tassone scored four goals and added two assists to go with a +3 rating in three games between January 21st and January 27th, helping the Broncos post a 3-0 record in that span.

On Tuesday, January 22nd, The Broncos rolled into the Civic Centre in Moose Jaw to face the Warriors. Tassone potted two goals and two assists as the Broncos downed the Warriors 7-4. He was also named the games 1st Star.
On Friday, January 25th, the WHL Western Conference’s hottest team, the Kelowna Rockets, visited the Credit Union i-plex to face the Broncos. Tassone scored one goal in the Broncos 4-0 shut-out victory over the Rockets.
On Saturday, January 26th, the Swift Current Broncos hosted WHL East Division rivals the Regina Pats to the i-plex. Tassone picked up another goal in regulation and the shoot-out winning goal as the Broncos defeated the Pats 3-2 in the shoot-out.
A product of St. Albert, Alberta, Tassone is in his second full season of play in the Western Hockey League and with the Swift Current Broncos. He also is eligible at the upcoming 2008 NHL Entry Draft, this June in Ottawa, Ontario.
