That game was hard to watch from a fans point of view. Even with Scarborough out of the line up the defense was still bad. They gave up a lot of 2on1 and hung our goaltenders out to dry. They also gave up two shorthanded goals but got one themselves. They couldn't close the gap down the middle and let the players skate right in uncontested. The only line that kept playing was our number one line. The defense was pathetic and if the forwards came back they had no support. The Refs were also pathetic tonight. I bet everyone in the building could count 5 Kootenay players on the ice and they gave a too many men to Red Deer, this was when it was four on four. When you have four officials on the ice that shouldn't happen. Also the way they sorted out the penalties from the mele in the third was dumb. When Red Deer had a four on three powerplay for 2 minutes and then both guys come out and it was 5 on for for three minutes and then Red Deer takes another penalty. It should have been 4 on three for two and four on four for two and 5 on 4 for two. EvenBrian had to bite his tongue not to say much about the officiating and get fined.
