The Swift Current Broncos announced that the Beat Breast Cancer Night, which was held, last night February 26th, at the Broncos home game against the Kamloops Blazers, raised $2,075.00 for Breast Cancer Action Saskatchewan.

A total of 132 Broncos Breast Cancer toques were sold with $5.00 from each toque going back to Breast Cancer Action Saskatchewan for a total of $660.00. The Broncos also held a silent auction during the game for seven special edition breast cancer hockey sticks, autographed Spencer McAvoy and Ryan Molle jerseys, as well as an autographed David Stieler print. The silent auction raised $1,275.00. Lastly, the Broncos sold pink paper airplanes raising an additional $140.00.

“The Broncos and Breast Cancer Action Saskatchewan would like to thank all of the fans that attended and supported our Beat Breast Cancer Night. To have our community get behind such a great cause that closely affects so many of us was really great to see.” commented Broncos Marketing and Sales Director Jordan Wall. “It was an extremely successful night and we really could not have done it without the support of our great fans.”

The Swift Current Broncos thank all of those who purchased toques and airplanes, as well as everyone who participated in the silent auction.

Two big thumbs up to the Broncos organization for supporting a great cause! Those pink sticks looked great and it was kool to see Eakin, Wilson, and Dansereau use the pink tape during the game.

Hopefully next year the team will all use pinks sticks during the game or even a special edition pink jersey etc.
