It's a later-than-usual game recap. :) Reason? Celebration, among other things, including stress. lol One minute you think about the big win last night...the next minute you start thinking about tonight and how extremely important it is for the Broncos to come out the right way in this one. Not much for a recap today, just a few small notes. This series is getting a LOT of media coverage....and as Dean said last night, it's great for the league. At the same time......Big Ern's recaps are kinda falling out of the picture. hahahaha
Anyway....
-what a gutsy effort by the entire group.
-too many undisciplined penalties. I'm talking about the penalties taken deep in the offensive zone. That's very ugly. The Broncos cannot keep doing that.
-Eric Doyle, Spencer McAvoy, Bretton Stamler, Wilson with his huge return, and most of the rest of our defense deserve kudos for working their bags off last night and keeping the Pats in check at key times. Of course we can't forget Travis Yonkman. ;) WOW.
-although taking too many penalties was a big problem for the Broncos, the PK was phenominal. Two shorthanded goals don't lie, and wow...what an effort by everyone on the PK. A very noticeable penalty killer was Dale Weise...."and now Weise will get it once AGAIN and slams it all he way down the ice" was becoming a broken record on 620 CKRM. It seems the Broncos get momentum from their kills which is great, but still...it's inevitable...too many penalties will kill you.
-Erik Felde is a beauty....all because of the guy he is off ice, and because of what he did last night when they rolled him off the surface on a stretcher. He pointed at the Bronco bench....it looked almost like a movie scene. He got his team going, and they followed up by winning the game for him. Hopefully he'll be back in the line-up shortly.
-when Levi Nelson scores, we seem to win every time. Last night was no different. From the minute he scored that go-ahead goal last night, he was a force to reckon with. That's how Levi needs to play.
-our fans are the best in the league. Let's rock the i-PLex tonight!!!
That will be it for the recap today. All the media gurus involved in this series have plenty of great coverage....there are about three or four good blogs that cover ths series, and the Leader Post is doing a great job. Check everything out for bits and pieces.
It's pretty exciting in town today...there is talk about one thing everywhere...the Swift Current Broncos. From a fan's perspective, tonight can't come fast enough. But from the Broncos' perspective, they have to remain focused...you have to win four games to win a series. Tonight is going to be the hardest to win of them all. We'll see what happens.
