WHL HELMETS TO DISPLAY ED CHYNOWETH CUP LOGO
Calgary – Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, announced today that commencing with the Second Round of the 2008 WHL Playoffs, Friday, April 4, all player helmets will display the new Ed Chynoweth Cup logo.
The WHL Championship Trophy – The Ed Chynoweth Cup – was renamed in May 2007 by the WHL Board of Governors and this is the first season WHL Clubs will compete for this prestigious trophy.
The Ed Chynoweth Cup was named in honour of the enormous contribution current WHL Chairman and past WHL President Ed Chynoweth has made to the WHL and the game in Canada over the past four decades.
