Former Broncos at Allan Cup

The 2008 Allan Cup Canadian Senior AAA Hockey Championships currently taking place in Brantford, ON features a few familiar faces to Swift Current Broncos fans.

On the bench of the Bentley Generals will be former Broncos forward Chad Beagle who is an assistant coach.

Beagle spent five seasons with the Broncos from 1994-99 suiting up in 253 games.

The Lloydminster Border Kings also feature defenseman Jeff Henkleman who played for the Broncos from 1994-98 in parts of four seasons. Henkleman also played four seasons with University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

B.J. Boxma is also a netminder with the Border Kings. Boxma played 64 games in 2000-01 and 01-02 with the Broncos before spending time in the WCHL, ECHL, AHL, ACAC, CIS, and the ECHL.

Another notable name in the tournament is Brantford Blast forward Brent Gretzky, brother of Wayne Gretzky. Brent Gretzky has had a long career in the OHL, IHL, NHL, AHL, ECHL, Austria, UHL and is a former third round pick in 1992 of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Suiting up for the Dundas Real McCoys is Todd Harvey a former Dallas Star, New York Ranger, San Jose Shark and Edmonton Oiler from 1994-2006.
