First Round - Phil Tot
A center from Calgary.
Interesting birthdate of Sept 16. That means that he misses the NHL draft by one day when his time comes. That means he will play his '18' year old WHL season before draft day like Boychuk has.
Anyone have any info on this Phil Tot?

Won the AMBJL Most Sportsmanlike Player – Philip Tot – Calgary Bisons South Division

Finished 5th in AMBHL Scoring

No. Player GP G A PTS GWG GTG PIM
8 Ty Rattie Airdrie Extreme 33 75 56 131 9 1 101
10 Jason Swyripa Airdrie Extreme 33 37 70 107 3 0 95
7 Michael Winther Airdrie Extreme 32 29 33 62 2 1 69
9 Nils Moser Airdrie Extreme 33 22 39 61 3 0 126
19 Philip Tot Calgary Bisons 33 26 34 60 6 0 12

Looks like he has good size for his age and was the highest scoring player in the AMBHL not playing on that offensive machine, the Airdrie Extreme.

Second round choice.

Reid Jackson, who hails from Weyburn, Saskatchewan, is 6’1” 160 pound mobile defenseman who played last season with the Weyburn Wings of the South Saskatchewan Bantam Hockey League. In 20 games with Weybrun, Jackson tallied 25 points (4G, 21A) with 22 penalty minutes.

Reid is big strong kid, who plays a physical game and possesses probably the best shot in bantam hockey today.” says Robson “He’s a strong two way defenseman with good hockey skills and good hockey sense.”

Wow a defenseman that might give our future powerplay a guy who can and will take a one timer. That will be different!

Oh I'm sure he won't be allowed to do that. It doesn't jive with our PP philosophy. ;)

The Canes website says he is 6'1' 175lbs. If so, that is huge for a kid of that age with those offensive skills.

Pick #150 Sam Lawson August 31, 1993 C Calgary, AB

Who is the most prolific hitter in the entire 1993 age class of players? If we were picking one Calgary Bisons Bantam AAA’s Sam Lawson would get plenty of consideration. The youngster is an up and down banger that hits everything that moves on the ice with a vengeance, competes hard every shift and plays a versatile game. Some scouts we talked to opined that Lawson has the potential to be one of the major surprises in this years WHL bantam draft! What logic underlies this line of reasoning? Where exactly will Lawson surprise?

Wakaluk is the son of former NHL goalie Darcy Wakaluk.

Darcy Wakaluk is the Hitmen's goalie coach I believe...hopefully his son can accomplish more than the current Hitmen goalies have :D

To see the scouts speak so highly of Sam Lawson, looks like a steal for us...hopefully he can intimidate and hit like a Wuchterl or Versteeg
