Coffee Shop Talk

Have you heard the latest? Word on the street is that the Moose Jaw Warriors are moving to Victoria. The rumour is that the Warriors' players have already been told.

We called Western Hockey League Commissioner Ron Robison.

"There's no truth to that what so ever. We're committed to having a franchise in Moose Jaw but we have a requirement, however for all of our clubs to have a facility of standard and that's all we're asking."

The Western Hockey League annual meeting is coming up next week and there has been talk our hockey club would get an ultimatum.

Robison says the City of Moose Jaw has committed to have a facility "of standard" for the 2009-2010 season. He understands we may not meet that deadline but, he'll be looking for some assurances.

The Moose Jaw Multiplex Steering Committee is expected to represent their recommendations to City Council on Monday, June 16th. The WHL General Managers Meeting is that same week.
