Blades Release Tentative Schedule


The Saskatoon Blades 2008/09 tentative schedule has been released to the public following Monday’s Western Hockey League scheduling meetings. All dates, times, and opponents are tentative and subject to change.
The day of week breakdown of the teams home schedule is as follows:

Monday 0
Tuesday 6
Wednesday 8
Thursday 1
Friday 4
Saturday 14
Sunday 3

A few crucial sections in the 2008/09 schedule are:

· 11 game home stand from October 28th to November 28th. During this stretch, the Blades will welcome 10 different teams to Credit Union Centre with the Swift Current Broncos being the only team to make two trips to Saskatoon in that time frame
· 8 of 9 games on the road including 6 consecutively from October 7th to 26th

· 5 game road streak when they travel to British Columbia from November 30th to December 6th

Based on the schedule, the Blades will play 2 games in 2 nights a total of 22 times, 3 of which are back to back home games (Oct. 4/5, Oct. 28/29, Nov. 15/16). The team will also be facing 3 separate instances of 3 games in 3 nights (Oct. 10/11/12, Jan. 16/17/18, Jan. 23/24/25).

Fans are reminded that Sunday games will see a 6:05pm puck drop while all other games will remain as 7:05pm starts. The only exception to this format is the annual January 1st New Year’s Day home game featuring a 4:05pm faceoff.
