Cougars acquire Ashdown from Seattle Thunderbirds

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars have acquired Zac Ashdown (09/07/91) from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a conditional 4th round selection.

Ashdown was the Thunderbirds 2nd (32nd overall) selection in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft. He spent the 2007-2008 season with the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. The 16 year-old, 6’0”, 185-pound native of Campbell River, B.C. posted 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points in 44 games played. He added 72 penalty minutes.

It should be interesting to see if he reports. According to the Nanaimo Clippers website, Zac is committed to them for the next season.
