Prince George, BC – The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce that they have acquired 20 year old goaltender Kevin Armstrong (06-29-88) from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for a 2009 Bantam Draft Selection.
Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson stated “We are thrilled about having Kevin in the fold for the upcoming season. Kevin is an experienced goaltender that will allow the other goaltenders in our system a chance to develop and provide us with experience in net.
Armstrong is a 6’1”, 186 pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Armstrong appeared in 33 games for the Chiefs in 2007-2008 posting an impressive record of 20-5-1-3 with a career best 2.17 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. He ranked 5th in goals against average, and 9th in save percentage amongst WHL goaltenders last season.
In 129 career games with Saskatoon and Spokane, Armstrong is 65-42-6-8 with a 2.50 goals against average.

Armstrong looks to be a great addition to the den. Someone to mentor Curtis. He has had so much dub experience and some great numbers to prove his abilities. A great pickup by Thompson to solidify the back end. Looks like the organization is going to go with youth out front by taking up a 20yr old space with a goalie. Any info on Magnusson coming back? or was the pick up of the two imports at draft day a sign he is not coming back?

Good trade by Thompson. I wasn't excited about having Curtis as our starter. If anything this will give him that competitive boost and elevate his game.
