Brandon, Manitoba – The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have learned that former center Tyler Dittmer has come to terms on his first professional contract.

One of three players to graduate from the Wheat Kings this past season, Dittmer has signed with the EV Fuessen Leopards of the German League.

Dittmer played 62 games this past season, scoring career highs in goals with 32 and points (58).

While Dittmer is off to Europe later this month, captain Daryl Boyle is under contract with the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals while defenceman Theran Yeo is headed to the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.

Yeo, Boyle and Dittmer served as Brandon’s three overagers during the 2007-08 campaign.

With training camp over a month away, the Wheat Kings currently have five 20-year olds expected to compete for the league limit of three this coming year. They include Daniel Bartek, Matt Lowry, Andrew Clark, Matt McCue and Chad Erb.
