Prince Albert to Host a Canada-Russia Game!

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – For the first time a Canada vs. Russia hockey game will be held in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. On Thursday, November 27, 2008, a team of All-Stars from the Western Hockey League will take on a touring team of All-Stars from Russia in the sixth and final game of the 2008 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge.

As announced in five other cities across Canada (Sydney, N.S., Saint John, N.B., Guelph, Ont., St. Catharines, Ont and Swift Current, Sask) the series will feature players from Team Canada that won gold and Russia who won bronze at the 2008 World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic. The event is used by Hockey Canada as a final evaluation of who will be part of the Canadian Junior Team for the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa.

“It is a tremendous honour for the Raiders organization and the city of Prince Albert to be able to host an event of this magnitude,” commented Dale McFee, President of the Raiders. “Our fans are extremely loyal and we are excited to bring them a major international event.”

Season ticket holders of the Prince Albert Raiders will receive the right to purchase their season ticket seat for the event. Details on the ticket price and when they will be available are expected to be announced in early September.

The game will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet. The start time has yet to be determined.

The 6th game will be completely meaningless, and not cared about.

We had this the first time the event was held, was not that special, none the less it was worth going too.
