Brandt Centre Scoreboard Unveiled
Regina, Saskatchewan -- IPSCO Place is pleased to announce it is completing a major upgrade to the Brandt Centre scoreboards and video system. Currently being installed are new LED scoreboards at each end of the facility along with new backlit signage.
An 11' high by 19' wide LED video board is scheduled for arrival on September 8th and will be installed adjacent to the larger west end scoreboard. The video board is a state of the art SACO Smartvision (http://www.smartvision.com/eng/index.asp) 16.5mm resolution display purchased through Sign of the Times in Regina.
SACO is the world leader in providing video board technology to sports stadiums and arenas. Similar systems have recently been installed in NHL & NBA arenas in Nashville, Philadelphia, Edmonton and Cleveland as well as outdoor displays for the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Astros.
In addition to the addition of the new LED video board, the upgrade will see the ten 26" upper balcony TV monitors replaced with 37" flat screen monitors. The new scoreboards will be operational for the Pats first pre-season game on September 6th. The video board is to be operational for the Pats home opener September 21st.
"As we attempt to attract larger and more unique events to the Brandt Centre we need to have the flexibility in our facility to meet their set up demands," says Neil Donnelly Vice President, Marketing & Events for IPSCO Place. "The new location for score clock and video system will allow us to create much more intimate settings for smaller events, as well as larger settings such as centre stage concerts in the round."
Regina Pats GM Brent Parker commented, "Going to Pats games has always been about more than just the game itself. It is important for us to provide a complete fan experience where families can enjoy a night out. We are excited about the possibilities that the new Video Board will bring us in regards to building on and improving what we already have in place with our game night promotions."
