Anyone else trying to figure out why Bortis was never drafted?

He never got the chance to develop in Swift because his coach did not play him . . . I'm sure the same story can be said for many players in the league.

Not to mention the fact he was more accident prone than Steve Urkel for the majority of his time in Swift. Spent most of his seasons on the injured list.

I agree with the comments above... He finally got a chance. It had nothing to do with injuries. I bet in old Swifty the coach is doing this to a few other players, this no surprise. Look at both Postma and Bortis, they both grew as players in Calgary, hmmm Postma was limited in his play in SC. Was due to injuries? don't think so.
