Cranbrook, BC -- Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced that the club has traded 20-year-old Goaltender Kris Lazaruk to the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a conditional fourth round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

“With four 20-year-olds on our roster we knew we had to get down in numbers sooner rather than later. This transaction will allow Kris the opportunity to play regularly with the Rockets and to continue his last season in the Western Hockey League. We wish him all the best in Kelowna and thank him for his contributions to our Hockey Club over the past three years,” added Chynoweth.

The ICE roster now consists of 26 players, including two goaltenders, eight defenseman, and 16 forwards. Kootenay returns to action tomorrow night at home against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at 6:00 pm. Tickets for both games are available at the Kootenay ICE Office and Kootenay Collectibles.
