Well i must say Weal didnt look out of place at all this afternoon at the Brandt Center... scoring his 1st career goal (many more to come) added 2 assists created alot of chances.

Weal got hit pretty good in the 2nd period by Ryley Miller, Bartley stepped in and fought Miller. If the boys stick up for Weal when he takes a big hit most players will think twice when they got Weal lined up for a big hit. Not saying the Pats have real tough guys but knowing if you take a run at Weal (or Eberle) that you will have to be willing to drop the mits, most players may think twice.

In 2 games for Weal hes got 1 goal & 4 assists, must say i didnt expect this from him this early in the season. If he keeps it up like this his name will be well known in the league within the 1st month. Kinda like last year how Eberle had 14 goals in 14 games, then only 28 goals in his next 56 games, teams realized this kid was for real and started putting there top Dman on him.

Quick starts are great though especially for a young kid like Weal, give him alot of confidence showing himself that he can compete at this level night in and night out.

***A little side note***

Being in both games this weekend against a team like Brandon (who has a very vetern lineup) shows alot of promise for the Pats considering they are missing 5 key players on the roster who are at NHL camps. You add Teubert & Delahey on the back end that gives us alot more experience then we had this weekend. Add Eberle and Leffler thats 2 players who can log alot of minutes (key minutes in key situations PK, PP and final 10 mins of the game) Rowat between the pipes (if we keep him) in my eyes the Pats will be fine, there arnt many teams in our division with the depth that Brandon has to go with skill.

Who needs to win hockey games, we will get player of the week honors! WOO! ha so it's not even close to more important than winning games but it is nice for him to get recognized and very promising for a rookie.

Not only was he picked player of the week, he is also tied for the scoring race with five points, as a rookie. Not bad at all.

AFTER 5 GAMES ... FIRST PLACE IN THE SCORING ... AS A ROOKIE

GOALS - 3 ASSISTS - 7 POINTS - 10
