BUBNICK TO SUIT UP FOR TEAM SASKATCHEWAN


Regina SK ---- The Regina Pats announced that nineteen-year-old forward Jon Bubnick will be playing for Team Saskatchewan in the 2005 Centennial Hockey Challenge in Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, April 14 at the Lloydminster Civic Centre. Bubnick, a native of Saskatoon, was tied for second on the Pats this season with twenty-one goals.

The Centennial Challenge features many of the finest junior hockey players
in the WHL who are residents of Saskatchewan & Alberta and have been
eliminated from the WHL playoffs.

Saskatoon Blades GM & Head Coach Lorne Molleken will serve in the same
capacity for Team Saskatchewan, while Kamloops Blazers GM Dean Clark will
guide Team Alberta.

The game will be aired live on CBC Television in both Saskatchewan &
Alberta, with Mark Connolly calling the play-by-play and former Medicine Hat
Tiger Kelly Hrudey as colour commentator. Canadian Idol finalist Theresa
Sokyrka will perform the national anthem.

Proceeds from the event will be directed in support of the WHL Education
Fund, the Saskatchewan Hockey Association Legacy Fund and the Hockey Alberta
Foundation.
