JUST NOTES: The Portland Winter Hawks have released F Cody Rainaldi, 19. The Winter Hawks acquired him Oct. 6 from the Prince George Cougars in exchange for LW Future Considerations. Rainaldi, from Campbell River, B.C., had one assist in three games with the Cougars but didn’t get into a game with Portland. . . . There will be a ring presentation prior to Friday’s game between the Kamloops Blazers and the Chiefs in Spokane. Members of the Chiefs who were part of the 2008 Memorial Cup championship team will get their rings in a pregame ceremony. . . . D Devon Kalinski, 18, has left the Kamloops Blazers and has returned to his home in Alberta. Kalinski was pointless in eight games this season and had been a healthy scratch twice. . . . The Red Deer Rebels had six players — Cody Esposito, Cody Gross, Cullen Morin, Tyler Penny, Carter Smith and Brennen Wray — touring the east side of Vancouver on Wednesday as part of their Keep Straight Program. . . . Red Deer D Justin Weller (leg) has been cleared for contact but likely won’t play until next week. He has been out for six weeks. F Josh Cowen (concussion) has been out three weeks, but has gotten the OK to skate without contact. . . . The Tri-City Americans have lost F Jason Gardiner for perhaps two months. He suffered a broken leg in practice on Wednesday.

In Swift Current, freshman F Burke Gallimore’s eighth goal of the season helped the Saskatoon Blades to a 3-1 victory over the Broncos. . . . The Blades (8-4-0-0) won their seventh straight game. They also have won five straight on the road. . . . The Broncos (8-3-0-0) had won their last two games and were 5-1-0-0 at home. . . . Saskatoon G Braden Holtby made 28 saves, 10 fewer than Swift Current’s Mark Guggenberger, who had been 5-0 against Saskatoon in his career. . . . The Blades went into this one having lost nine straight games to the Broncos. . . . Gallimore, who was acquired from the Spokane Chiefs last season while he was playing midget AAA in Edmonton, has a team-high eight goals. . . . Saskatoon LW Curtis Hamilton (knee) left in the first period and didn’t return. . . . The Broncos lost F Cody Eakin in the second period after a crushing check by Gallimore. . . .
