Well the winning streak came to an end tonight. Not sure what happened but the Raiders knocked off the Hitmen. Looking forward to reading any recaps that Raider fans have.

Hitmen came out hard in the first crashing and banging which was something the Raiders weren't used to. Lots of pressure in the Raiders zone but Stanford was strong in net for the Raiders. McMillan scored first on a shot from almost the blue line. It looked like Raiders goalie Stanford was looking for McMillan to pass but he shot and an easy shot went straight in. Nice easy goal by the Hitmen. The Raiders upped the tempo to keep up with the Hitmen in the Second. Calgary played solid but the Raiders buried the two real good chances they had. Jones was solid in net so the loss for sure wasn't his fault. Kozun had the Hitmen second goal. That kid works so hard every shift. Fun player to watch for sure. In OT the Raiders Deck skated the puck down the left wall and dished it to Harrison in front of the net for looked like a tip in. It all happened so fast.

Players on Calgary that stood out. ( good or bad)
Kozun works hard every shift.
Plante is overrated.(and to reward his holdout with an "A" must upset some)
Rowinski taking an instigator fighting penalty was a waste of time for a clean hit. It wasn't even much of a hit actually. harrison looked to fall and ended up taking the Calgary players feet out.

Actually, many of the Calgary players looked to be very disgusted when a PA player would hit them or take the puck away. Calgary has a strong team to be sure but for having the best D core in the league ( someone else's words not mine), PA did score all of their goals even strength.

In the end, maybe Calgary took PA too lightly but it didn't look like it to me. Calgary worked hard all game. PA worked hard all game as well and happened to come out with a win in OT which was indicative of the game. Very close.
Also, PA had Harrison(16), Herrod(17) and Dobrowalski(18) ( our checking line) playing against the Hitmen #1 line all night and were very effective in shutting them down.
