THE MacBETH REPORT: F Jordan Cameron (Tri-City/Vancouver) has been released by Hannover Indians (Germany Oberliga) at his request. He had six goals and eight assists in 13 games with the Indians.

JUST NOTES: The Red Deer Rebels are preparing to head into the U.S. Division and they may go without D Luke Egener (iknee), who was injured Saturday. He is to be evaluated Monday. . . . Red Deer D Colin Archer (shoulder), who hasn’t played since Oct. 22, might play Friday against the Thunderbirds in Seattle. . . . The Rebels open their swing Wednesday against the Chiefs in Spokane. . . . The Swift Current Broncos are scheduled to visit the Pats in Regina on Saturday night. But the Pats are hoping to move that game to Sunday, 6 p.m., to get it away from the CFL playoff game between the visiting B.C. Lions and the Saskatchewan Roughriders that is to be played in Regina on Saturday afternoon. According to the Regina Leader-Post, the Broncos hadn’t made a decision as of Sunday evening.

In the GAME OF THE NIGHT, the host Kelowna Rockets got a goal and an assist from LW Jamie Benn, the WHL’s leading scorer, and beat the Edmonton Oil Kings, 5-2. . . . The Rockets (12-7-0-0) won their third straight game by scoring three third-period goals. . . . Kelowna has won nine of its last 12 games. . . . The Oil Kings (8-10-1-1) had won two in a row and three of four. . . . This was the game of the night because of the return of G Torrie Jung to Kelowna. The Rockets dealt him to the Lethbridge Hurricanes a couple of weeks ago and they, in turn, moved him to Edmonton. Jung went into last night with a 3-0-0-1 record with the Oil Kings. And this one was 2-2 going into the second half of the third period when Kelowna C Colin Long scored on his side’s lone PP of the night. . . . Benn drew an assist on that goal and then got his 18th of the season at 15:18. . . . Jung finished with 30 saves on 34 shots as Kelowna F Jesse Paradis scored into an empty net. . . . Kelowna freshman G Adam Brown stopped 22 shots and now is 7-0-0-0. . . . Benn leads the WHL in goals (18) and points (32) in 16 games. He has three more points than Long and four more than Vancouver Giants C Evander Kane. . . . Edmonton was 0-for-3 on the PP.

In Calgary, D Michael Stone broke a 1-1 tie in the second period and the Hitmen went on to beat the Medicine Hat Tigers, 2-1. . . . The Hitmen (14-4-1-0) had lost their last two games. They are 11-1-0-0 at home and lead the Eastern Conference and the overall standings. However, they have played four more games than the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Giants. . . . The Tigers (7-6-2-2) have lost three in a row. . . . Medicine Hat F Mark Isherwood opened the scoring with his side skating 5-on-3. . . . Calgary F Brett Sonne tied it with his ninth at 16:26 of the first period. . . . All three goals came via the PP as Calgary was 2-for-6 and Medicine Hat 1-for-4. . . . The Hitmen are 3-0 against the Tigers, having outscored them 11-3. . . . Calgary D Paul Postma drew assists on both goals.
