Another former Rocket flies the skies of the National Hockey League.

The St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled forward Cam Paddock from the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen and will make his NHL debut Friday night in Chicago.

Paddock has skated in 12 games for Peoria this season, collecting four points (three goals, one assist) along with six penalty minutes.

Paddock, 25, played in 78 games last season with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) San Antonio Rampage, registering 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists), along with 107 penalty minutes.

Following his year with the Rampage, Paddock signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Blues organization on July 15, 2008.

Paddock played from 1999-2004 in Kelowna. During his five year WHL career, he played 323 games, scoring 107 goals and recording 205 points. He was voted by his team mates to wear the “A” in the 2003-2004 season.

After completing his WHL career with a Memorial Cup victory in 2004, Paddock began his professional career in the American Hockey League playing for the Wilkes-Barre Penguins. He played only 16 games in the AHL before being sent to the East Coast Hockey League and the Wheeling Nailers. Paddock would have a great rookie season scoring 11 goals and compiling 29 points in 53 games.

The following season (2005-2006) Paddock improved his stats. In 61 games in the ECHL, he tallied 14 goals and 38 points. For his efforts he was called back to the AHL Penguins for the final four games of the season, but failed to record a point.

The North Vancouver native never gave up and continued to work and improve his game and in the summer of 2006 Paddock signed on with the Phoenix Road Runners of the ECHL. He made an impact immediately scoring 11 times and recorded 31 points in 46 games. Thanks to his success, Paddock again was promoted to the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage, the Phoenix Coyotes affiliate. From 2006-2008 Paddock would play 100 games with the Rampage compiling 12 goals and 27 points.

Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round, 185th overall in the 2002 Entry Draft, Cam Paddock is set to make his NHL debut wearing #65 for the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.

Congratulations Cam!
