Well Brandon Kozun scored the "teddy goal" and it rained bears for about 27 minutes including clean up and the Hitmen rolled to their 11th straight win. Over 18000 people watched the game and over 22000 bears fell to the Dome ice. That is less than last year but still a great result.

It wasn't a very skillful game, lots of dump and chase. Some very good hits by both teams. I am not sure what happened on the 2nd Hitmen goal. Hayes made the save and seemed to have the puck the whistle didn't go but everyone just stopped, the puck popped out and the Hitmen slammed it into the net. Herman was the ref so major screw up shouldn't surprise anyone.

The Hitmen will be tested starting Wednesday night as they will play the US division. 5 games in 7 nights.

Sonne got pushed into the net by a Wheatie defenseman and Hayes thought the whistle went. He just popped up off the puck and the Hitmen shot it in. Goal light never went on but the linesman that was behind the net (ref was in the corner) immediately called it a goal. After consulting with goal judge and linesman it was ruled a goal.

I watched on the web, and it was a wierd play, Hayes assumed the whistle went and just stood up, and Calgary kept playing, even though a Hitman was lying in the net and crease. But the whistle never sounded, so it was a goal, a good lesson for Hayes to learn, play to the whistle.
