2009 WHL Playoffs LIVE on SHAW - Round 2: Vancouver Giants vs. Spokane Chiefs
CALGARY, AB - Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League, announced today that the entire 2009 Kal-Tire WHL Western Conference Semi Final best of seven series between the Spokane Chiefs and Vancouver Giants will be televised LIVE on SHAW TV and Star Choice throughout Western Canada.

SHAW TV will also provide LIVE coverage of the 2009 WHL Playoffs during the third round (WHL Conference Championship series) and the fourth round (WHL Championship Final series). Coverage plans for the third round WHL Conference Championship series will be announced at the conclusion of the second round of the WHL Playoffs.

The first two games of the Spokane Chiefs – Vancouver Giants series will be broadcast live Friday, April 3rd at 7:30 pm PST and Saturday, April 4th at 7:00 pm PST from the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The following is the schedule for the Spokane Chiefs – Vancouver Giants best of seven Kal-Tire WHL Western Conference Semi Final series:

In addition to the Spokane - Vancouver series, the Kal-Tire WHL Western Conference Semi-Final round match-ups will also feature the Kelowna Rockets taking on the Tri-City Americans. In the Husky WHL Eastern Conference, the Brandon Wheat Kings, Calgary Hitmen and Medicine Hat Tigers await the game seven results of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Saskatoon Blades series this evening to determine their second round match-ups.

The QMJHL and the City of Rimouski, Quebec will serve as the official hosts for the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup. The Rimouski Oceanic will host the Ed Chynoweth Cup – WHL Champions, Ontario Hockey League Champions and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Champions from May 15 – 24, 2009.
