"Goaltender Braden Holtby leaves for Washington Capitals training camp in Arlington, Virginia as having all but earned a spot in the organization for the upcoming season. Following the Blades elimination from 2009 WHL playoffs, Holtby was part of the Hershey Bears Calder Cup championship team. A 4th round pick (93rd overall) by the Caps in 2008, Holtby was signed to an entry-level contract in October.

Adam Morrison, a second-year goaltender with the Blades, will go to camp with the Philadelphia Flyers. A 3rd round pick in 2009 by the Flyers, Morrison went to development camp with the Flyers in July.

Defenseman Stefan Elliott was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2nd round (49th overall) this past June. The rear guard will attend his first NHL training camp in early September with the Avalanche.

Defenseman Sam Klassen was signed to a free-agent contract in early August by the New York Rangers. The 20-year-old Klassen will attend the 2009 Traverse City Prospect Evaluation Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan as a member of the Rangers prospect team. From there, Klassen will head to New York for the Rangers main camp.

Jyri Niemi, a 3rd round pick (72nd overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2008 NHL Draft, doesn’t have far to go for his second NHL training camp. The Islanders will, of course, be having training camp at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon and chances are the Finnish defenseman may play in one of the two pre-season games at Credit Union Centre in September.

A 5th round pick (132nd overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2008 NHL Draft, Teigan Zahn will attend Blackhawks camp for the second straight season. Zahn will be in Chicago for the training camp before the team embarks on a European tour for the remainder of the pre-season.

Center Milan Kytnar, a 5th round pick (127th overall) in 2007 by the Edmonton Oilers, will be in Edmonton for camp. After signing an entry-level deal with the Oilers in May, Kytnar will look to turn pro this fall. The Oilers will be in Saskatoon for a pre-season game with the New York Islanders on September 20th and the 20-year-old Kytnar stands a chance in playing in that game.

Joining Kytnar in Edmonton hoping to make an impression on the Oilers brass will be right winger Burke Gallimore. Undrafted in the 2009 NHL Draft, Gallimore earned an invite to the Buffalo Sabres development camp in July. After not receiving a fall invite from the Sabres, the second-year Blade will attend Oilers rookie camp at the University of Alberta in early September.

A 7th round pick (201st overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 2009 NHL Draft, center Gaelan Patterson will go to training camp with the Flames this fall. The Saskatoon native attended development camp with the Flames in July and could be in the Flames lineup for the pre-season game against the New York Islanders on September 19th at Credit Union Centre.

Finally, centre Travis Toomey has earned a spot on the Atlanta Thrashers development team roster for the Traverse City Prospect Evaluation Tournament. If Toomey is able to make an impression with the Thrashers he could earn an invite to the team’s main camp back in Atlanta."

Yeah that will make a big difference since both goaltenders are gone,it will be interersting to see who comes back and stays in the Blades uniform for the season and the thought of Patterson VS Neimi and also Kytnar & Gallimore VS Neimi is kind of exciting.... Now I wish I would have bought tickets to at least one of those games.
