Shea Weber is in his fourth season with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. He was taken with the 49th pick in 2003. A strong skater, he delivers hard hits and is hard to beat one-on-one. Weber responded well after being drafted, scoring 12 goals and adding 20 assists while helping the Rockets win the 2004 Memorial Cup Championship. He tied for the team lead in playoff scoring and was named to the Memorial Cup All Star Team. Weber is sidelined by injury and the Rockets are hoping he can return later in the WHL playoffs.

Shea Weber, the 49th overall pick in 2003, has played for the WHL's Kelowna Rockets that past four seasons.
"We saw an awful lot in Shea's game," Fenton said. "He has a complete, nasty game that every team is looking for around their net. We thought he'd develop into that. Suter and Klein are puck moving, savvy defenseman whereas Shea gives you four or five more inches in height and he should add about 30 pounds over his draft weight. I think he could be rated as one of the best players in the 2003 draft when we all go back and analyze it in five years. We view him as being in the Adam Foote mold. We think he has every bit as complete a game as any prospect out there."
