BLAZERS MAKE TWO ROSTER MOVES

Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner has announced two separate roster moves today. The hockey club has traded 19 year-old defenseman Kurt Torbohm to the Prince George Cougars in exchange for Prince George’s sixth round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft. The Blazers have also released 18 year-old defenseman Matt Cumming.

“These transactions were necessary as we have several defensemen on our roster. We feel this trade will allow Kurt an opportunity to get more playing time,” Bonner said. “With Matt, we didn’t feel we had enough room for him on our backend. We would like to thank Kurt and Matt for their service with the hockey club and wish them all the best”, concluded Bonner.

Torbohm, a product of Chase, BC, played 99 career games with the Blazers adding 5 assists and 149 penalty minutes over two seasons. Cumming, a Kamloops native, played the last two seasons with the Prince George Cougars.

The Kamloops Blazers roster now sits at 26 players, including two goaltenders, eight defenseman, and sixteen forwards.
