HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen are back on the ice for the second time in as many days as they visit the Edmonton Oil Kings tonight. The Hitmen opened their 15th WHL season last night with a 6-2 win in Red Deer . Tyler Fiddler led the scoring attack with a hat trick while Ian Schultz, Austin Madaisky and Michael Stone added singles. Matt MacKenzie, Misha Fisenko and Brandon Kozun each chipped in a pair of assists. Martin Jones made 23 saves to record the win. The Hitmen dominated the special teams battle going 2-5 with the man advantage while killing all eight Red Deer power plays.
VS EDMONTON : Tonight is the first of six meetings with the Oil Kings. In 2008-09 the two teams also met six times with Calgary winning the season series 5-1 outscoring Edmonton by a combined 31-11. Including the playoffs, the Hitmen have won their last nine meetings with the Oil Kings.
