The Hitmen spoiled the Oil Kings home opener with a hard fought 4-2 win. The Hitmen were badly outplayed in the first period. Once again the Hitmen took several penalties in the first period and were lucky to not find themselves down by more than 1-0. The Hitmen took 5 minors in the game but 4 of them came within the first 21 minutes of the game. In the second, the Hitmen really found their legs and took the game to the Oil Kings. The Hitmen controlled the play in the third as well. The Oil Kings seemed to be on the heels and didn't want to take many chances. Tyler Fiddler scored his 4th of the year for the Hitmen, he had just 3 goals all of last year.
