The Kelowna Rockets have acquired forward Tyler Matheson from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a conditional 7th round Western Hockey League draft pick.
Matheson, 19, played three games with the Blades this season. A native of Victoria, the 6-foot-2 230 pound left-handed shot played the past two seasons with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL (17G 28A 217 PIM).
“With the injuries we suffered on the weekend we needed to acquire someone who could play,” said Rockets general manager Bruce Hamilton. “Tyler can play defense and forward.”
