by being drafted in the 1st round in 2008, then being a big part of the trade between Philly and the Ducks. Now he has made the lineup (wearing #5) for the Ducks opening game on Saturday against the Sharks.

I highly doubt that Luca would have been wearing Hurricane colors this year for a couple of reasons. Firstly, he was wanted by the Ducks big time and there was little doubt about him playing elsewhere despite the comments of GM Bob Murray. Secondly, had the Ducks announced that he was coming back to Lethbridge, I would think that the phones would have been ringing off the hook with offers to trade Luca, trade offers that would have gotten the Hurricanes at least a first round draft pick and maybe a defensive prospect.
