The Hitmen make their first visit to Cranbrook this season and play the Ice for the first of eight meetings. For whatever reason, the Ice always give the Hitmen trouble. It sounds like the Ice, as a team, are suffering from the flu. Meanwhile, the Hitmen are likely to be without starting goalie Marty Jones, who has an ankle injury.

The Hitmen improved to 5-0 on the season following a 2-1 win in Cranbrook tonight. It was an interesting roster tonight as Michael Snider started his second straight game as Marty Jones recovers from an ankle injury. A day ago, the Hitmen released 20 year old forward Jason Macdonald and tonight the Hitmen sat out their other 20 year old forward Cody Gross. Peter Kosterman got into his first game of the season at the expense of Eric Bonsor. It was a young lineup and it showed at times. After the first period, the Hitmen were outshoot 2-1 (30-15) and were outshot 40-33 overall but there were several minutes were it seemed the puck didn't get out of the zone. Chase Schaber and Joel Broda scored for the Hitmen, who only managed to get one power play tonight. The game was really all about Michael Snider and it is great to see the kid set up big time when the team needs him most.
