The Brandon Wheat Kings could have a new face in the lineup Friday night when they host the Prince Albert Raiders in game five of their best of seven Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Final.

The Wheat Kings announced this morning that 19-year old Winnipeg product Andy Zulyniak has been recalled as an affiliate player from the BCJHL's Vernon Vipers.

The 6'1" 200 lb Zulyniak has spent the past two seasons with the Vipers after playing the 2002-03 campaign with Prince Albert.

In his two years in Vernon, Zulyniak has scored sixteen goals and 71 points in 109 games. This past season, he had ten goals and 48 points in 59 regular season games. In thirteen playoff games, he had three goals and six assists for nine points.

During his one year with the Raiders, the former St. James Canadian had three goals, eight points and 19 minutes in penalties in 52 games.

With Zulyniak's addition, the Wheat Kings now have 25 active players on their playoff roster - two goalkeepers, nine defencemen and 14 forwards.

In other news, veteran Lance Monych will move into seventh place on the WHL's all time list for playoff games played (70) when he takes to the ice on Friday. Only six players have played more playoff games in league history - Shay Stephenson, Red Deer (87), Colin Sinclair, Kootenay, Red Deer's Boyd Gordon, Joel Stepp and Jeff Woywitka (72) and former Medicine Hat Tiger Mark Pederson (71).
