Just got back last night from a terrific four game trip to Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, and Chilliwack. 2500 kms, four cities, four games, 15 fellow travelers, lots of family and friends meeting after games.
Quite a storm through the passes one jack-knifed rig, a truck and boat on its side.

Kamloops - the first tem minutes looked like our skates were left on the bus. We were hemmed in constantly and out shot 7-0 down by one. At the commercial break the Rebels took over and scored three on hard work and very nice forchecking. Not only that but the D looked solid and Kraymer's confidence was showing.
After an initial error on the first goal against, Petrovic was very good and ended with four assists. Kudrna's hat trick was the result of being willing to get into heavy traffic. Archer's +3 and willingness to go with a disturber impressed me. (Hanes was a disturber and a pain in ...) three fights ... Kambietz-Kulchar, Archer-Hanes, Cowen-Nyren. Nyren, Shattock, and Ranford stood out for Kamloops. Many shone for the Rebels but I particularly noticed Kudrna, Petrovic, Cowen, Barnstable, Ferguson, and Archer.

Kelowna - Short down time as we had the late game the night before and a 2pm game that afternoon. It was a tight game from the start with the Rebels scoring on a powerplay with 2 seconds left in the first. It stayed close through the second and third with a Kelowna PP evening it up in the second and with St. Denis closing out a late nice passing play to score the winner. Special notes ...TWO broken panes of glass, and meeting two scouts who were willing to talk. One in particular expressed surprise at how well Cowen was playing and asked a lot of questions about Kambeitz. Two special 16y olds (Nugent-Hopkins and McColgan) if this game is an indication; I will take Nugent-Hopkins hands down. Missed Ferguson who was attending a funeral. Both goaltenders stood out as well as Novotny, St. Denis, and McMillan for Kelowna and Deagle, Borejko, and Cowen for Red Deer.

Vancouver - one day off and a little shopping. Then game day. Got to see the boys a little as we stayed in the same hotel. Game OMG frightening I am seeing double Smith and Smith to ref. starts off really even then a horrible call against the Van. tender, Tucker. delay of game for not moving the puck with a Red Deer player standing over him. Seconds later an over the glass by Tucker that couldn't be ignored. Red Deer up one. Then the "two wrongs will make it up" and Van scores on a power play. In the second again on the PP Vancouver scores on a big rebound and 19s later scores again on another big rebound. Weird reffereeing continues both ways and the game ends up with a 5 Van on 3 and a line brawl. Connauton ends up on top of Petrovic with the linesman grabbing at Petrovic's arms and Cannauton continues to punch then dusts his hands as he goes by the Rebels bench. (One game suspension.)
Van that caught my eye - Musil is very impressive, Gallager and Cunningham.
for Red Deer ... Ferrero really coming on, Morin, Ferguson, and Weller .

Chilliwack - It looked like the Bruins decided they could demoralize the Rebels by hitting them every chance they had and wear down a tired team at the end of a road trip. After getting down one early, two RNH goals put the Rebs up and they never really looked back. some penalties by the Rebs made it interesting a couple of times. Mayor's first of the year (top corner on a wrister LOL) was the payoff for a line that really shone. Again, the kid line, and (cousin) Deagle were really skating a got a lot of minutes. Three fights - Cowen- Neigum, Archer-Sundher, Archer-Manning. Archer. Great to talk with the boys after a 3-2 road trip. Everyone with smiles one eager to talk. The first winning road trip in a very long time and the first time heading home on a win after a lengthy road trip in a long time. There were about fifty family and friends greeting them after the game. Bruins of note McColm, Howse, Manning. Rebels ... Barnstable WOW, Nugent-Hopkins, Ferrero, Coetzee (Starting to make plays together again) Archer, Weller, Morin, Petrovic, Borejko solid, Deagle, Elson, and the kid line.

Special thanks to Joann and Kirk, Karl and Edie, Dan and nephew, Stew, Terry, Millie and Ed, Harold and Donna, Val, and Lynne for sharing this special trip.
