The Hitmen ended their 6 road trip with a win over their rival the Kootenay Ice. Kyle Aschim scored his first WHL goal with just over 5 minutes remaining to put the Hitmen up by a pair of goals. Kris Foucault gave the Hitmen lead 3 minutes after the Ice tied the game, the Ice had been coming on the 3rd period scored to tie the game but because it was Teddy Toss night for the Ice, much of the momentum disappeared. Marty Jones was solid making 24 saves.

It was the final game for both Jones and Brandon Kozun for awhile as both players are on their way to world junior camp. Personally, I think Kozie is a lock on the team while Jones is in a battle for the backup job behind Jake Allen.

The Hitmen return home tonight vs Medicine Hat and play again tomorrow night vs the Ice in the Hitmen's annual Teddy Toss game. The Hitmen have opened the 3rd level in the Dome for Sunday's game so it will be very close to a Saddledome sellout for the game.
