The Hitmen returned home tonight after a 6 game road trip, a trip that had the Hitmen collect 11 of 12 points. Tonight, they came out strong and had a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd when Joel Broda got a breakaway, was stopped, he slashed Tyler Bunz's arm to give the Hat a power play and it seemed the entire game changed. In the end, the Tigers scored 4 straight to take a 4-3 lead, the Hitmen would tie but the Tigers would regain the lead shortly after. Tyler Fiddler scored the tying goal with less than a second left in the game. In the overtime period both teams got a power play but neither team got a shot with the man advantage. The Tigers got 2 goals in 3 attempts in the shootout while neither Foucault or Schultz could score for the Hitmen. It was the 3rd time that these 2 rivals have went to a shootout this year.

The Hitmen return to the Dome tomorrow night, it will be their 3rd game in less than 3 days, and it is the annual teddy toss game. There should be 20000 + stuffed animals thrown to the ice tomorrow when the Hitmen score their first goal of the game.

After the way the Hitties dominated the Tigers last season, it is nice to see the Tigers fight back a bit more this season, so to speak. Nice win by the Tigers, not to take away how well Calgary played tonight. Can't wait to check out the game next weekend here in the Hat.......Should be another dandy!
