For the second straight night the Hitmen went to a shootout. This time vs the Ice and this time the Hitmen won the shootout 1-0. Chase Schaber scored the only goal of the circus with a beautiful fake slap shot, deke move. Michael Snider stopped all 3 shots in the shootout after looking shaky for most of the game. I thought the Ice played a very good game but I surprised that they didn't try to speed the game up more, considering the Hitmen were playing their 3rd game in as many nights.
Ian Schultz scored the "teddy" goal, the puck barely crossed the line and it must have been a good 10 minute review. During the review Calgary fans threw 16, 755 stuffed creatures on to the ice. A low number considering some the of the past numbers but the charities of Calgary are happy.
The second Hitmen goal was scored by Del Cowan, who got his nose dirty to a loose puck in the front of the net and put low blocker side on Mathews, who made some great saves, particularly in the 2nd period with the Ice up 1-0.
