This should shape up to be a great series …Only thing I don’t like is the 2-3-2 format..
Rockets need to start out strong at home .. :thumb:

GO ROCKETS GO

I agree. Should be a whale of a series. I also don't like the format but I do understand why it has to be. If Kelowna can win the first two at home, they will be fine. Go Rockets!!!

Start with the goalies. I think it is misleading to say Tyler Plante is the 12th rated goalie in the play-offs. Once each series, the Wheat Kings, for whatever reason, lost all discipline and basically gave up on a game and had a parade to the penalty box. Results were a 4-1 loss to Moose Jaw, a 10-1 loss to Calgary and a 4-2 loss to PA. To blame those 18 goals on Plante (I know he didn't let in all 10 against Cal but too lazy to look up how many) would be wrong as it was his defensemen that kept running to the box. Today he just won the Rookie of the Year and last year he was the starting goalie on the National Champion Brandon Wheat King Midget AAA team so there should be no question to the talent there.

Do the Wheat Kings have 3 solid lines like Kelowna?

Not to be flippant but I don't know. We haven't seen Kelowna since last year and it is hard to really pay attention to the west all season (as I am sure it is hard for you guys to get excited about what is going on in the east).

Having said that, Brandon has three very good lines. Their lines however aren't etched in stone and tend to change from game to game and even period to period. Stone and Fehr rarely play on the same line any more except for power plays. Usually it is Fehr (player of the year winner over Dawes), Sindel and Konserata; Stone, Monych and Corchaine and on the third line Burki, Reeves and Sandel. Our third line is the line that did in the Raiders and is the most relatively healthy line we have.

The D is big and good. They managed to shut down Calgary and PA once Brandon had their 3 losses. Hopefully they can start right from the get-go against the Rockets. Later is fast and loves to carry the puck but if you watch him close he rarely gets burnt. He (just about) always manages to get himself back in position.

This series will not be a slam-dunk. The Wheaties will have to play their best, most disciplined hockey of the play-offs but I think they have the talent to win this league

Our forwards match up pretty good, Kelowna has really has three even lines. Each line has dominated at least one of the three series. All play the same offensively and all well defensively.

Defense, sure Brandon is bigger by 10 lbs, but if you take away Colin Joe (probly won't dress), we average 193 lbs. Kelowna defense will be more mobile, Card, Weber and Cumisky all rush really well.

Goaltending is still I believe a edge for Kelowna, Raider fans have been saying that Plante gives out juicy rebounds and Yeomans is pretty good that way.

Kelowna does have a good PP and if Brandon is going to the penalty box lots because Kelowna is checking them hard the Rockets will put them away pretty quick.

If you look at the Rockets and Hitmen this year, Kelowna has two one goal wins and one tie, so this series will be close.

The only one big edge IMO is experience, and the Rockets are loaded with it.
