Couple of thoughts about tonights game....Calgary didn't really
look like they were into it...Mathews was real good for the Ice..
Am real impressed with Kooteney, they are on a roll and could be
a surprise team come playoff time.....They have good size and play
real well in there own end, was real impressed with McNabb..
As for the Hitmen, thought Beach was there best player tonight, some guys
just don't look right like Kris Foucault,I really think they should release
Rigby Burgart,he gives it his all but not as effective this year cause no one
really wants to fight him anymore, he made his mark last year and really we
have enough toughness in Schultz,Stone,Beach etc... Rigby probably won't get any ice in the playoffs anyway so maybe fill the other European spot or
play some of the younger guys a bit more...Just my thoughts

Trade him to PA, they like toughness.

Burgart doesn't go out looking for fighting anymore either. He seems to think he can be more of an all around player when the reality is he is just an enforcer.

The Ice have to be one the league's best team since probably November or so. They are really rolling along and I sure wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs. They really play well against the Hitmen.

The more the Hitmen play the more I realize that despite the good record, this team is probably more of a middle of the road team. They lack scoring depth, they can run around in their own zone, they are lacking work ethic and 60 minute efforts. In saying that, they are probably one or two players from being able to compete in a 7 game series with the big boys (Brandon, Saskatoon, Med. Hat).

Its a little hard for Rigby to go out and look for fights when no one wants to fight him.
Whats wrong in having a reputation like that? I think the coaches probably have more say on how he should be playing, maybe they don't want him as " just an enforcer??"
He seems to be getting more ice time this year as "an all around player" than last year.......

Well that's his problem,he's trying to be an
all around player but he can't skate...
3 points in 39 games and a minus 7..
He's a liability when he's on the ice....
Minus 7 is pretty bad when your only playing 3
minutes a game.....

A Liability?? hmmmmm
I think its important to have a player that everyone if afraid to fight, he protects the other players and the other teams know this. Its all part of making up a team.
He can't skate? Do you actually watch him? I see him "giving his all" everytime he is on the ice.

I didn't say he doesn't give his all, he's probably the hardest working guy
on the team, and yes, he must have a little bit of talent to even be playing
in the league, but we have some younger guys with more talent that need
to be playing more, and yes i watch him, he is a terrible skater, and I don't think
he brings fear into any of the other tough guy's in the league.....We have enough
toughness, guys like Schultz, Beech,Stone, guy's that bring alot more to the table
than Rigby period.....

I agree,He IS the hardest working and to say that any of these players must have "a LITTLE bit of talent"......wow! Not too many hockey players make it to this league and only dream of it.
He doesn't bring any fear?? hmmmm interesting statement, but you do have the right to your opinion, thankfully he has a HUGE fan base :) AND thankfully he does put fear into the other players......how can you explain why no one wants to fight him now??
I am sure I could arrange a skate off between the two of you, now THAT would be interesting, hehehe

Yes, I saw the quote Razz
