The Calgary Hitmen played their most complete game in well over a month and they were rewarded with a 6-2 win over the Hurricanes.

There were a couple of areas where the Hitmen finally dominated:

1. the power play. Before the Christmas and world junior tournament the Hitmen had the best power play in the league, then it went into a major slump but last night the Hitmen scored 5 power play goals in 7 chances. The Hurricanes went 0 for 7.

2. Offensive attack. The Hurricanes started out with a 2-0 lead, but were being badly outshoot. Rowat was the only reason why the Canes had a lead in the game but once the Hitmen got the first one in, they really just blew open the game. The Hitmen would score 4 goals in 3:08 before adding another late in the 2nd period.

3. Misha Fisenko. Fisenko has some real good offensive skills but we rarely see it as he tends to disappear for long stretches at a time. Last night Fisenko 3 goals, all 3 on the power play to give him 8 on the year.

1. LET Braes, (15) (Hood, Rowat), 18:38
2. LET Fyten, (15) (Oslanski, Machacek), 1:25
2. CAL Broda, (25) (Shattock, Stebner), 9:05 (PP)
2. CAL Fisenko, (6) (Stone, Kozun), 10:48 (PP)
2. CAL Fisenko, (7) (Kozun, Stone), 11:45 (PP)
2. CAL Cowan, (11) (Stebner, Sylvester), 12:13
2. CAL Bubnick, (19) (Broda, Nyren), 18:19 (PP)
3. CAL Fisenko, (8) (Kozun, Stone), 8:42 (PP)

A couple of big games this week for the Hitmen. They host both Brandon and Tri-Cities. The Hitmen cannot afford a slow start in either one of those games, I think both games will show exactly where this team is compared to 2 of the leagues elite teams.
