good game tonight....bestland had a great game...he sure plays big for a little guy...blades spotted wheaties 3 goals and came back and won it in overtime 4-3...nice to see the blades play desperate hockey, and the never give up attitude!....if these 2 teams make it to the final against eachother we are in for some great hockey.

They can make it to the conferance final together but not the WHL final. Still it would be a fun series to watch....

Kelly mac said on the post game show he never thought the work ethic was there for bdn after our 3rd goal.....

well what is he suppossed to say???...his team blew a 3 goal lead...deserres played great, and so did stanford, it was an all around good hockey game...im not sure about the penalty call on the check from behind on niemi...didnt think he deserved anything as niemi turned...and didnt like the way niemi layed on the ice like he was knocked out...which would lead to the tying goal...by the niemi never missed a shift...the blades dont have the talent brandon does, but they do have the intangibles...never say die type of attitude.

I wasn't passing judgement, just passing on kelly mac's comments. Bdn sure didn't deserve to win based on the 3rd period, giving up a shorty. Yeah, the call on Readeke was very weak, but, gotta fight through adversity like that. We're 4 and 2 against the Blades, so we'll see how the last 2 go....

Thats one of the things I've always respected about the Blades. They really do not have any big names on their team(save for Elliot) but they always have that awesome work ethic and team game

Still surprised Elliot didn't get a WJC tryout in Dec.....

Based on Cowans play at the Juniors Elliott would have been not to bad and in his home away from home none the less little disapointing for im sure

Quite surprised Elliot didn't get an invite as well and Stone in Calgary and Robak (Bdn) as well but water under the bridge now.
Glad to hear DeSerres had another great game . I've been hoping one of our goalies would take their game to next level and looks like DeSerres has the last little while. If we get Hayes going too as backup (two goalies ) and Hamonic in the lineup, we will be tough.
Notice Melnychuk was + 2 on the night, his game Has steadily improved this year. Carrying the puck more and not trying to do the stupid fancy stuff that would turn the puck over nearly as much = alot solider game. Especially last year , people wondered what McCrimmon saw in him other than size but he has gone from a liability to a pretty decent asset on the team. For his size , he could be a little more physical , and still makes the odd bad play, but they all do that. If Hayes gets his game back on a consistent basis , I will be happy to compliment him as well.

Brandon played for 5 minutes then the blades started grinding it out and pulled it out
