I was really expecting a dominating performance by the Hitmen tonight and even though they won the game 5-1, they really didn't dominate the game.
In the first period the Hitmen scored on their first 3 shots of the game and based on the radio broadcast, they basically started coasting from there. Kozun, Broda and Shattock all scored in the period for the Hitmen.
In the second period, the Cougars scored their only goal of the game, thanks to Taylor Makin. The Hitmen responded with 2 goals in the period. Giffen Nyren and Misha Fisenko scored the goals.
In the third period it was the parade to the penalty box. In the last 11:26 of the period, the Hitmen took 7 penalties and it took one early in the period for a total of 8 penalties in the period. Unacceptable for a team that is challenging for the top seed in the East.
