First off, sorry for not keeping up. Life is busy with work, kids and olympics.

The Hitmen rebounded after a below average performance vs the Rebels on Wednesday with a very solid 4-2 win in Red Deer last Friday night.

The Rebels opened the scoring on a breakaway goal from Andrej Kudrna. Kudrna took a nice break pass from Weller, went in all alone on Jones and slipped it in between Marty's legs. The Hitmen would tie the game when Ian Schultz redirected a Joel Broda centering pass. Before the end of the first period, the Hitmen would take the lead on a beautiful passing play between Kozun and Foucault. They 2 came in on a 2 on 1, Foucault sent it across to Kozie who, instead of shooting, sent back to the other to Foucault who banged it into an empty net.

In the 2nd period, the Hitmen were really able to slow the game down and I don't think the Rebels had a good chance to score. The Hitmen would grab a 3-1 lead when Tyler Shattock broke in down Kuemper's glove side and fired a shot over the glove of Kuemper. It was a nice shot but the Rebels needed Kuemper to make that save. The goal was a shorthanded goal.

The Hitmen expanded their lead early in the third. On a 4 on 3 power play, Kozun got the puck in the Red Deer zone on Kuemper's blocker side. Kozie looped all the way around up at the blue line came back down to the circle on Kuemper's glove side and made a great centering pass to Broda, who had snuck in on the back door. It was a great play by Kozie. The rest of the period was slow as the Hitmen really defended well. Jordie Deagle did make it 4-2 very late when he banged home a rebound.

It was a great game by the Hitmen, they gave the Rebels nothing offensively. They were able to play a game that really hurts the Rebels, they got the puck into the corners and cycled with good success. They were able to play along the boards, an area that the Rebels really struggle with.
