from Giants website:
After making a trade with the Tri-City Americans to switch first round picks, the Vancouver Giants today selected Forward Anthony Ast from Burnaby B.C. with the 19th overall pick in the WHL Bantam Draft. The Giants acquired the 19th pick along with a 2nd round pick in 2011 by sending their first pick, 13th overall to the Tri-City Americans.
Ast, born February 11/95 , Giants Director of player personnel Jason Ripplinger says “Anthony is a goal scorer who doesn’t mind paying the price to get those goals, he plays well in traffic, he is a skilled player with good speed, he blocks shots and is a good character player who is difficult to play against”
Ast is 5’8’’ and 165 pounds and played Bantam this past season with the Burnaby Winter Club, where he recorded 67 goals, 99 assists for 166 points in 73 games. wow -- great numbers.
