has bruno made a real good trade ?
in the 2 years as gm 08-09 and 09-10
maylan for dobber was fairly even.
stanford for yaworski and wall was a loss
rowley for stebner was even as it worked out well for both (sooner for kamloops)
aasman for parker was a loss
perseley for a 13th ? penner for 12th?
dumping robertson for mcangus ? loss
dumping depape for jagow ? kinda a wash
hickmott was good but the tiger got a good dman and nhl development money from thomas kundratet
zemlak was drafted not traded for.
mccallum was a good pick up, and that was a clear win
what were some of the other deals

Ok Dwight, I'll wade in!
McCallum - a definite win for Bruno
Svendsen - jury is still out but Hickmott was soft and we do get a draft pick
Persley - was an 8th rounder and wasn't going to play, so who cares. Bruno showed class by trading him close to his home.
Aasman for Parker - a crappy trade, Bruno loses
Rowley for Stebner - top 4 D this season, Bruno wins
Maylan for Dobber - Maylan will probably be top 2 centre this year, Bruno wins
Yaworski & Wall for Stanford - Stanford wouldn't be playing this year for us. Yaworski will play another couple of years as a depth guy and fighter and Wall served his purpose. Bruno wins because he maintains a long term asset and Stanford wasn't missed.
Fiddler & Bourhis & draft pick for Harrison - Harrison had probably peaked, Fiddler has a big future ahead of him and Bourhis brings a potential top 3 d in the next couple of years plus toughness. It will take a season and a half to rate this one but I have a sneaking suspicion that this will go down as a one sided trade for Bruno.

the more recent hickmott trade or harrison i didnt mention since nobody has played a game yet.i was speaking of the original deal to obtain him.
stanford had quite the year for saskatoon. i dont think
the raiders won because they traded a quality starter for 2 fringe depth guys
its not like they were robbed either. as you was wall filled a need.
stebner will also return as a overage top 4 dman. he was a top 4 dman right from the get go in kamloops. played great there and in calgary. in the end worked out for both sides (both won lol).

How about the Jamie Tucker trade for a 2010 draft pick to the Giants? Giants then traded the pick to Kamloops and the Blazers selected Tyson Harvey from Nanaimo.

I dont see how Maylan and Dober is not a win for Bruno. Maylan still put up as many points as Dober and has a extra year left to play. Not to mention Maylan never even seen First line ice time yet and was only on the PP half the time. Expect a big increase in points for him this year with Harrison gone. Also Rowley and Stebner favours the Raiders . I know defence isnt just about points but I mean hes a 50 point defencemen , and without him passing the puck alot of players would have alot less points. As far as the Stanford deal its definitly not a loss for Bruno. It was obvious that zemlak had taken the starting role and to get a 17 year old defencemen that has 3 good years of hockey left and a solid defencemen for last year in Wall. I am positive any gm would make that move again today.
if you look at the dobber deal from pg's pov its pretty good for them. he's from there. he gave them size and hit, he scored (as much as anyone could there). maylan was more productive for us then them. its a move that benefitted both teams. the extra year maylan is eligible for i forgot about, so sure.... but if connolly was healthy all year how many points would dobber have got as his winger. i still think its close not a clear win though.
and with rowley and stebner, rowleys first year he was gawd awful in his end, but he really played well this past year, physically too. but he was dead weight in kamloops and they got a top 4 dman who played very good, and they later traded to calgary. it was a excellant deal for kamloops also. its hard to call a deal a win when both teams win. cause there was no loser.

what were some of the other deals
Maylan trade we won being a year younger and should put up decent numbers this year
stanford for wall and yaworski wasnt a huge loss and we gained a 4th round draft pick stanford was far to inconsistent
Rowley and stebner trade was a clear win gave both players some new life
aasman for parker is up in the air
persley wouldnt have reported to the raiders anyways (asked to play near home just like harrison) might as well get a pick for him
Penner - dropped from chilliwack
looks like we might come out ahead in this deal looks alot more promising then penner
249 Chilliwack Prince Albert Pfeifer, Eric LD North Battleford, Sask.5.11165Battleford'sMar 27, 1995
Consistent defenseman earning rave reviews
If consistency and heady play are the hallmarks of a WHL bantam draft first rounder, then you can all but sign up Battleford 1995 born defenseman for a spot in the first round of the 2010 WHL bantam. Or so says one scouting source ...

hickmott was a steal also used pick to pick up igor revenko
mcallum clear win

Wasn't hickmott for our 2nd import pick which mh used on thosmas kundratet ? And the 4 aquired from stanford was traded for flette wasn't it ?
I'm not trying to make this a bruno troll thread. I saw similiar threads on hfboards and thought it was a cool idea

Bruno has only made 2 horrible deals imo . The Flette deal was awful and the Aasman deal for Parker was bad as well. In Brunos defense though I watched the gamr the Raiders played in Seatle and Parker was great . I still hope he shows better this year. Another deal stands out as awful even though it was just before Brunos time was the May trade. Cofili and Martin. M ouch
i think flette, and aasman were the 2 big losses, but the robertson deal was bad too.
the jeff may deal who did we get with the 2nd round pick ? also could be different if martin had wanted to come back here.
its kinda neat to see an ongoing tally of the trades.

Martin isn't even protected and isn't playing anywhere. I was at training camp when the beginning of the end was coming for Martin . Pm me if u want to hear the convo with Bruno he had beside me haha. The 2nd round pick was used for Beau Steuart .
martin flat out quit hockey i thought, like brandons 1st rounder

The Parker deal looks pretty good now. Looks like a break out year for Mr. Parker.

The Parker deal looks pretty good now. Looks like a break out year for Mr. Parker. He was the best player on the ice by far for the Raiders in the game in Red Deer on Saturday. You have to look at the intangibles too, Aasman loses some points for not having a 70's pornstar moustache like Parker!

So what is Aasman like as a player? Just haven't heard much about him in Swift!

reed for a 7th then left
corbin for a 3rd (could have promoted from within, or used any of the 9 dmen on the roster)

What does Bruno care? He won't be here to sift through the slim pickins he leaves his successor(s).

I have to eat a little crow as I was never a Parker fan. I'm sure not alone when you go back to the first page.
Bruno seems to be making players out of some of these throw in types.
Maybe better than the drafted players.
Who is the best preforming Bruno drafted player today.
How about the Harrison deal?
Bruno will be well aware of who looks good in Sask for this june as his kid is playing C4. Can't hurt.

Bruno doesn't go to many hockey games around town,he would rather go to BC and scout Jr.A or Jr.B stop gap players.
He is very seldom at any Minto or even his own kids game.He should focus on drafting some of the PA Pirate players who are some of the best prospects in Sask.

I have never seen him in the rink at any Bantam or Mintoes game but I assume he watches his own kid when he gets a chance.
I guess if he came from BC he knows they have better players there. If you get them retreaded they will get you to 7th place. Be happy!

Bruno's own kid plays on the PA Venice House Pirates. However, Matthew isn't WHL draft eligable this year as he is a 97 born. You can watch for Matthew Campese to be one of the top 97 born players picked next year in the top couple rounds of the 2012 WHL bantam draft.
Bruno should be watching:
Ryan Duret, Miles Warkentine, Lance Yaremchuk and defenseman Jordan Harris and Bryton Sayers. Good draft group from PA Pirates that will forsure see 5 kids picked.
