GIANTS TRADE COSTANZO TO CALGARY
Created: May 11, 2005
The Vancouver Giants have traded 19-year-old forward Ryan Costanzo to the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a conditional eighth round pick in the 2006 Western Hockey League bantam draft.
Costanzo is entering his fourth and final year in the Western Hockey League. The 61, 190 lbs. right-handed centre is a native of Montrose, B.C. He joined the Giants last season prior to the WHL trade deadline and finished the year with three goals and ten assists in 66 games.
With a large number of younger forwards projected to play in our line-up next season, we felt we could offer Ryan a better opportunity to play in our league with another team, says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. We thank Ryan for his contribution to our club and we wish him all the best in finishing off his WHL career with the Hitmen.
hmm, looks like the Giants are dealing with the 20yr old problem early.
