View Full Version : De LaLande decides not to return

The Tips are all of a sudden in the market for an O/A defenseman. Chris DelaLAnde decided not to return six days before training camp begins. The Tips may be down to one overager. Heemskerk will be back in camp this season, but I really don't think the Tips will keep a 20 YO backup goalie. Simpson will be the starter this season so that leaves backup minutes for Heemer.

The team definitely loses some experience, but DelaLande isn't an overly hard player from a skills stand point to replace. He's not physical, he's not overwhelmingly an offensive defenseman, he's not a pure stay at home guy either. He's just kind of a good player who is there.

Given this teams overage situation, he would have been nice to have around...but 20 YO players are pretty easy to come by and usually only take a 6th-7th round pick to pick up a player of DelaLande's caliber.
